The whole playoff thing turned out to be a fiasco..we were supposed to play the first game last Saturday..got there at 8:30am as instructed and once it got game time, guess what? NO REFS..the other team was responsible for lining that up and ooops! they had forgotten...SO, they decide to reschedule the game to 4pm that day at their home field (how convenient! you are supposed to play playoff games at a neutral field)..so everyone rejuggled their days around to be there...got there and guess what?! there were teams already scheduled to play on those fields at 4pm..niiice...so the question was do we wait around 2-3 hours for them to finish and then play at 7 or 8 pm or reschedule yet AGAIN? so the team took a vote and one vote threw it over to rescheduling it..it was COLD that night people..and our boys had been up since the crack of dawn getting jerked around about their game that they had been excited about playing..they were pumped up that morning..sooooooo, we finally played it last night at THEIR field, with sucky officials, two really tall players that were rumored to have been added AFTER the season for the playoffs (wouldn't put it past this league to do that), a raging coach on the other team that yelled so loud you could hear him from the other side of the field and he threw water bottles (made me feel pretty sure he beats his wife if he gets THAT enraged over a 5-6 year old football game), our coaches were all at odds with each other (which had never really happened before), some of our players cared about winning and playing their best and some didn't, etc etc..it was a really bad night..we got beaten 25-36, and we all left a little disappointed that it all went down like that...Chaz woke up this morning at Mimi's (it was their night to spend the night) and she said he said "Mimi, I really wanted to win our game last night..I tried my very best"...awwww! and really, that is all we asked of him..He did play great, made some awesome passes, and had some good runs.
However, it was a great season, we did awesome only losing one game, Chaz learned so much and got to see what being on a team was all about, he made a really good friend in Gabe, I reconnected with Amy, we had great parents and coaches that didn't yell and scream at our boys--it was just a really fun three months!! Loved every minute of it...and I took tons of great pictures of my boy and the other boys that will be cherished memories for years to come..! Now, we are planning our end of the year party and readjusting back to a normal schedule..
Getting excited for Halloween! On that note, I leave you with this picture of a boy on Chaz's team that came to the game we were supposed to play last Saturday in full face paint...loved it!
Given her favorite puppy (as seen in the last post), her costume was an easy choice once I saw it at Old Navy..I love the Old Navy costumes..they are so easy and nice..I'll hate it when she can't fit them anymore..we're going to paint her face up too with a black nose and all..and I've got to tighten that part around her face..but how cute is this? I always love the tail..and her name according to her collar is "Spot"..lol
Two years ago she was "Fifi", a pink poodle ...
She got SO many comments from people the year she wore this..it was so dang cute!
Yay, finally starting to see some fall color around here..! I find myself talking to myself while I'm driving, saying things like "Oooo, look at how beautiful THAT tree is"..or "Whoa, I'm so tempted to just pull over and take a picture of that awesome orange maple?"...
There is a tree in Peachtree City that is my favorite tree..it is shaped perfectly and gets so beautiful in the Fall...Bailey and I stopped by there after I picked her up from school the other day because I was checking it out for a possible photo shoot..well, she was all over me taking pictures of HER..so, I did..the leaves are not quite turned yet, but still pretty..
Ummm, she's WAY into posing lately..can you tell? lol..
Her and her beloved puppy that she saved from the thrift store..
This time to our little buddy Buster, who was 15(!) yesterday..
I got Buster for Brad as a Christmas gift a year before we were married..he was only 6-7 weeks old..and he's been our little companion for all these years..
She loves him so much and makes sure he gets a treat each morning..
Bless his heart, he's completely deaf now and I think has a touch of "doggie Alzheimer's"..Bailey has yet to get that and stands at the door and yells and yells for him..I have to remind her every time that he can't hear, and she has to go find him to give him his treat..lol
He's been such a great dog all these years..and we realize he's getting old..so I'm trying to take lots of pictures of him!! :)
Love this old picture of us..so "70's"..we used to get into those photo booths all the time when I was little, and I found this one that had been cut off of a strip..I keep it up on my photo board...those straight across bangs were so "me" when I was little..I remember she used to make me stand in the tub while she cut them..lol..and you gotta love her tinted glasses..now THOSE are signature 70's too..
Our little football team won again last night, ending the season with a 7-1 record..! We are so proud of them and they far exceeded our expectations..Saturday starts the play offs..
Hope we're ready cause there's going to be some tough teams there!
Yay, finally got a picture of my friend Amy and I!
and then we switched sides and really look like proud football Moms with our big buttons, don't we..lol
I really don't mean to be neglecting this blog, but my photography blog has been getting all the action lately..check it out..several new posts..Looking forward to Saturday.. I have an engagement session and then Sunday I have a family session..stayed tuned for those..
Brad is in the bed sick sick..uggh, we really have no time for sickness right now..WAY too much going on!..and Chaz CAN'T get it either..he's got to play football Saturday!
I have some new pictures of Bailey to post once I get them edited that I took today..so cute..and she got a new haircut..there are some layouts to share that I haven't been able to photograph because we have been getting a new roof for the past three days and I had no way to get outside and photograph them..The Mexicans may have thought I was really strange if they saw me doing that..lol..
Got Chaz's Dracula costume today..can't wait for him to try it on tomorrow..and I've got to get some pumpkins for our porch..I have really been slacking with my Halloween stuff this year, darn it! SO not like me!
I've got to work tomorrow..and really need to go to bed..I despise getting up that early!
Pray for Brad..he's going to the doctor in the morning..I know it's probably strep throat..it seems to really like inhabiting his body..
So, Chaz likes to write very random things on different pieces of paper, and I find them scattered around the house..well, this series cracked me up..
He's obviously feeling pretty confident about himself..
(Chaz is good, He is the best.)
and then, he humbled himself, and I found these...
(translated: Gabe is the fastest one on the team)
(He is good at football)
Lol..you would never know he was in the gifted program given that spelling and handwriting, would you? Do you see why on Tuesdays, when it is writing/English homework day, I about lose my mind? See, I was the top dog in high school in English/Speech/Writing...and trying to have patience with handwriting like this is maddening..however, he does score 100% on his spelling tests every week..I'll give him those props..lol
