for a daughter that has been very sick with pneumonia..yep, who would have known..I think we are on the mend, but it has been a very stressful week..hoping to resume normal schedules and activities next week!
I'm really excited for Bailey. She has started taking art classes after school once every two weeks. A very enthusiastic teacher, April, teaches art at local schools and her projects for the kids are adorable and use nice materials..nice paintings on canvas and things like that..One of my girlfriend's kids have taken her classes and I was so impressed with the stuff they had made..I knew it would be perfect for my girl.
The first class they started on their canvas painting project, but at the second class, they painted these shirts. Now, given that Bailey is in kindergarten, Ms April and her assistant help a little, but surprisingly, not a whole lot..in Bailey's class there kids up to second grade, so the older they are, the less help they get.
Pretty cute! I can't wait to see the projects she brings home..I love encouraging her creative little spirit!
You know, to keep up my blog, etc..hmmm, not seeming so..here's a little catch up...
Baseball and softball are in full swing around here for Fall season...
Chaz has found his niche..pitching! He loves it and is doing great at it..he's started taking some lessons from a pitching coach in Peachtree City to help get his form right before he gets set into bad habits..but he throws hard and is getting more and more consistent...my Dad was standing over on the other team's side a few games ago and overheard several people telling their kids that were coming up to bat to "look out, that boy throws hard"..lol..love it! I haven't taken many pictures at his games yet because my sports lens only likes bright light, but here are a few..
(That ball field is so frustrating to try to get pictures at..I think next game, I am going to get behind the plate and take a few pics head on while he is warming up? Risky? yes, but I'm going for it)
Yesterday was opening day for softball..Bailey is a "Viper"..we got their uniforms when we got to the ball field..lol..had to change right there at the field..for some reason, the uniform company always runs really late getting their uniforms to us..frustrating! This year, she got my old number that I always had in high school.. good ol' #3.
Her team this year is really little and young, but they have great coaches and will grow to be a strong team over the next few seasons, I'm sure..Her old team with Coach Scott moved up due to most of them were older and so about five of them were left back..four of them got on the Vipers together this season..we seriously miss the fifth one..she was on the team we played yesterday..So, being that the four of them played last year, they are kind of like the "old pros" and are playing the infield..Bailey is playing the circle (where the pitcher would be, but the coaches actually pitch and then move out of the way, but it's an important position because they get a lot of balls hit to them and also, after the play is made, they have to get the ball back to the circle in order for time to be called and no more runners can advance..did you get all that? lol)..she also plays third base..
That's not Bailey running, but I LOVE this shot...
The game ended in a tie..which is all good..these girls don't really care if they win or lose..and by the way, the heat here has been horrible! It was mid 90's at this game..ugggh..but I think this week, we're going to start having some good cooler temperatures, thank goodness..
and then a random explosion of enthusiasm..lol..
Sadly, she had started feeling bad Friday evening, had a touch of a cold yesterday, and has been all out sick today running 102-103 temps..poor baby..so, we are chilling at home enjoying the rain we are having!! It hasn't rained here in FOREVER!
To crank up baseball and softball games..baseball starts Saturday (and we have a scrimmage tonight against his old team that we loved so much, ahem...should be interesting)..Chaz is going to be pitching this season..praying he doesn't hit too many boys and hurt them..lol..
Softball games start next Saturday..
I'm SO ready to break out my 70-300mm lens again..it's been put up since Spring season..and I'm ready for some great sports shots to share..
Busy day today..going to weigh in to see what my weight loss may be for this past month..hoping for a decent number..and then I'm going to be photographing two boys for the Cystic Fibrosis calendar for 2011 like I did last year..both of them are 1, so praying for cooperation..lol..apparently they are quite busy..
and then to the dreaded Walmart for groceries..pray for me..
hoping to have something fun to share soon..a few digital layouts..Designer Digitals had their quarterly sale this past week, so got me some new stuff to play with.. :)
While I was browsing blogs this am (one of my favorite past times unfortunately), I was reading the Q&A's on my friend Rhonda's blog, and I loved this from her..this is what I do too...
"What are your best tips for making the time to be creative? it has taken me time to learn that TIME itself is perception & what we make of it. We choose how to spend our time. So if creative time is important to us, put it on the schedule. I look at my day and see what needs to be done, what are the "non-negotiables." And then what do i want to get done but don't necessarily have to get done. and lastly, time for me which includes being creative. I have learned i am important enough to put on the schedule. We trying to do for everyone sometimes forget to do for ourselves. "
Great point Rhonda! By the way, I need to post a picture of Rhonda and I from several years ago when we met at CKU Atlanta and sat together in our album track...little did I know that she would become a rock star in the scrapbooking world after that event...lol..also, she is the FASTEST scrapbooker I have ever been around, seriously!
Yesterday, Bailey started art classes after school..I am SO excited for her..she loves that kind of stuff and they make really cool projects..she goes every other Tuesday after school..can't wait to share the projects she makes...you will really be surprised! I really want to nurture her creative side and expose her to different forms of art, besides scrapbooking and photography..lol
Hope everyone had a fun Labor Day weekend..we didn't do much..ball practice for both kiddos on Saturday and out to eat, church and then bike riding in Peachtree City on Sunday, and pretty much nothing yesterday...
Here are a few layouts I wanted to share...
This one is all digital..love how you can cram all these pictures on one page..not a lot of journaling needed so it worked great, but you could add more journaling using digital paper strips if you needed to...the template can be purchased here at Sweet Shoppe Designs..
and this one is a lift of a layout by Summer Fullerton in Scrapbooks Etc from like 2008..love her style and always loved this design..Brad even walked into my scraproom and made a comment about how much he liked this one..lol
Check out my photography blog for a sneak peek of a session with this super cute family! The season is getting busy for family photos..booking up and planning two mini sessions..stay tuned..
