He had a great school year!

Even though it went by in the blink of an eye (holy cow!!), Chaz had a great Second Grade year...First off, he absolutely adored his sweet teacher, Ms.Daniel...

and I'm pretty sure the feeling was mutual..she told me all the time how much she loved having him in her class :)

He made some fun friends...

 

He wasn't really into any girls in his class this year...but I did overhear about a girl in another class (an older sister of one of Bailey's friends)..lol

He and Logan got obsessed with Pokemon cards here at the end of the year...

Chaz went all year with a 100 in conduct (see? Told  you his teacher liked him..lol)..No white reminders..and he racked up on awards at Awards Day...He received the Assistant Principal Award for all A's, High Honor Roll, Good Attendance, Good Conduct, the Accelerated Reading 30 Point Club Award...

and then their class voted on different awards all named after candy bars..lol..and he got the Skor Bar award for "Most Athletic"..when he went up to get it, he said "two years in a row"...lol...

and then Coach Young stopped by to give out his awards...and Chaz got a gold medal in the Pacer test and he also got the Sportsmanship award for his class...I was very proud..

His teacher had put together a sweet slide show and gave us all a copy, plus a notebook full of his work over the year...

He got rather sugared up on the refreshments..he ate ALL of that! (My friend Natalie took all the kid's pictures for the front of their notebooks..they all turned out so good!)

Bye Bye, Room 306...he'll be moving on down the hall...

Happy Memorial Day...

I am so thankful to live in this great country...and even more thankful for the men and women that have fought and are currently fighting to keep it great (and safe)...May God continue to bless us here in the USA!

Field Day...

Field Day was two Fridays ago..I had typed up a big post with lots of pictures, only to have it disappear? Ticked me off..anyways, I'm just going to post lots of pictures and let them speak for themselves...

By the way, when I was in Elementary school, I used to live for Field Day..I was a good runner, so I always ran the long distance race all the way around the playground, which was big...and I won more than once, for the record..I had good endurance back then..and speed...I lost it somewhere along the way unfortunately :)

It was HOT that morning, but not as hot as it had been the day before, thank goodness...Fun time had by all... :)

First Day, Last Day...

Tomorrow, Bailey graduates from Kindergarten...holy moly...here are her first day, last day pictures..love these!

and Chaz pretty much had his last day today..he's going to Bailey's graduation with us and skipping school..hee hee...

Thinking that I see the most difference in Chaz's pictures? 

Way behind in posting..I still have Field Day pics, Awards Day pics, End of the Season Softball party pics, and tomorrow, I will be taking a ton of Graduation pics..and then Memorial Day pics...goodness...at some point, I'll get all these posted..I've been so sleepy at night?

I have to say that I'm very proud of my two kiddos..they had great school years...both were so well behaved and got 100's in conduct as well as great academic grades..Bailey got into the "Reach" program (the gifted program at their school) for next year, and Chaz will continue in it for the third year...makes Mama happy :)

Back at some point to catch up...

Happy Birthday Poppie!

Today is my Daddy's birthday..we celebrated early..On Monday night we had him and my Mom over to cook out Brad's luscious BBQ ribs..they were so good per usual..wish I would have gotten a picture of my Dad and his plate..lol

My Mom made his favorite cake..coconut..

and BAM, just like that, Chaz beat both of them to the blow..per usual..

Poppie was not amused...

If you have Chaz at your birthday, beware..he is a thief..he will steal your candle blowing moment away in a split second..no joke..makes me so mad, yet now, it is a running joke..

South Beach Day 2...

Still hanging strong...

Added in some exercise today..walk/run

Discovered turkey bacon is disgusting, and I'll never try to eat it again..yuck!

Dinner was grilled shrimp and tilapia and steamed broccoli..

Researched some ideas for snacks..it's not as easy as before where I just grabbed some Cheez its..lol..I miss my Cheez its!

Sugarless gum and nuts are my friend...

Thank goodness I can still have a Diet Coke or two...

Looked at cute little summer dresses at TJ Maxx and felt inspired...

I really want to tear into a box of Cheez Its right now..not because I am hungry, but because they sound good..

I better just go to bed!

I made it through Day 1...

and I have to say, it wasn't that bad..now, I did go to make a batch of sweet tea and had to stop myself from putting the 2 1/2 scoops of sugar in it like usual..I just left it unsweetened, which I can tolerate..I felt pretty full all day..Dinner tonight was chili and chili makes me happy...The main time I've had a problem with wanting to snack is right now..late at night watching TV or on the computer..deep breaths..

Over all, good day...

 

Embarking on a new adventure...

Due to summer lurking around the corner (I think? it's been pretty chilly here the past few days)...Brad and I are inspired to give this way of eating a shot..I started today..and at this moment, I'm so full, I couldn't finish my lunch? Weird cause I'm always hungry..maybe all along it's been the evil sugar? lol..we'll see..but I'd like to write a journal entry here at the end of each day through the first two weeks of "Phase 1" in case anyone else is interested..I've learned all I need to know to get started online..I didn't buy that book above...just Googled South Beach Diet and found everything I need...

So, off we go...
 

This made me happy...

The other day I got a package with several finished digital layouts that I had created and finally uploaded to order...

Several 12x12's...

and all of the school album layouts I had completed so far for Chaz...

I have to say, it motivated me to want to get more completed..

I also finally finished one layout for the sketch class I'm doing..and I have several pictures printed out for many others...

REALLY proud of these boys this weekend...

The Chilidogs played their hearts out this weekend at the Conyers Hitter's Classic..won one by many points, lost one by one point in the last inning 2 outs yesterday....and then won both games today to take first place...it was like a whole 'nother team out there this weekend..they played so darn well! 

We are super proud of our #2...

My throat is scratchy from yelling so much..imagine that?

And the Vipers won their last game yesterday 20-10...so it was a great ball weekend all around...
