Anyone? Did anyone go to summer camp for a week or so and on the last day, get really sad that you were leaving really good friends behind? It's amazing how close you can get after only a week? I used to go to camp every summer (Woodland Christian Camp), and it was the highlight of my summer..in fact, I got to photograph a long time guy friend from camp last Spring that I reconnected with on Facebook..He grew up to be a great guy with a beautiful wife and adorable son..cool to reconnect..however, I digress...
Mom to Mom came to an end a week or so ago...and I have to say, I felt like summer camp all over..THIS is a great group of women..women who are Moms, who are wives, who are daughters, daugther in laws (holy cow, some good stories there), sisters, etc..and all who seek to do their best at what they do...all of these women are talented in their own special ways that God gifted them with..there is a wealth of talent in this group, I'm telling you..and different personalities and temperaments, but all of them blended so nicely...the quiet ones are the ones that crack you up the most when they finally speak up..and our small group leader Pat...she is awesome and real and transparent..I figured out that that is a quality that I really like in a person--transparency--someone who is not afraid to admit their weaknesses and struggles..it ends up connecting and helping others so much more than putting on airs that all is well and under control..I like people who are "real" ...I want to be friends with people like that...
Pat's birthday was on Easter and we had been plotting and scheming what we were going to do to celebrate it with her..in the end, most of our plans fell through because Pat is a busy woman...but it all worked out...we all pitched in and got her a cake and a pretty nice gift card to Pikes...
Such a hoot!
We had so much fun! Not sure if I'm going "next year" due to my work schedule, but this year was well worth it!
