When Bailey got her first reading book in preK...very simple, but sometimes, I'm just in the mood to get a layout done without dragging it out for days...seems to be the way I'm going lately..
Gotta go fix dinner...
We went and picked up Ace this afternoon..and basically the rest of the day has been about him..he's a mess..high maintenance..already doing pretty well on a leash, going tee tee outside, pooped once in the house (yuck), not so fond of his crate (he's squealing at the moment), being fought over by the kids, bitten three out of four of us (the way that puppies bite you), met a few neighbors, frolicked around "his" backyard, got stepped on once by Bailey, has been petted (is that a word?) a thousand times, has been reprimanded a few times, stepped in his water, gobbled down his dinner...
They love him...and I have heard how much from Chaz many many times..it's cute to see him so smitten..every boy needs a dog..Bailey loves him too...she just likes being "Mommy" to him..
Already "seeking and destroying"...lol
We're so excited to have our new addition, even if he keeps us up for the next few nights...that's why we got him on a Friday..lol..
Baseball tournaments all weekend..baby is going with us..we shall see how it goes :)
Goodness, I've never seen the kids THIS excited about anything..they are busting a gut to get Ace..EVERY morning, first thing, "when are we going to get Ace"..lol..I sort of feel the same way, but I don't tell them that..lol..
Been busy getting everything for the "baby" to come home..
Crate, food, food bowl, super cute collar which he will probably hate having on, leashes, cute wall hook for the leashes (obviously not necessary, but saw it at TJ Maxx and had to have it), cute food mat from Target...whew, puppies are expensive...not even counting the vet bills to come..but he will be worth it..

We're going to get him tomorrow afternoon..not sure how the weekend is going to play out with Chaz having a baseball tournament in LaGrange all weekend? Planning on just taking the pup with us? Hmmm, we'll see...can't wait to get my camera on the little fella and get GOOD pics...Stay tuned :)

and then the fact that he is in a PINK BARBIE JEEP with his LITTLE sister pushing him up the driveway when the battery ran out? Ugggh, gotta teach this boy how to be a Southern gentleman...
There's going to be a new baby around here on Friday...
His name is Ace and he's a baby Jack Russell, just like our first beloved dog, Buster...
The kids are OVER THE MOON excited..they've been wanting a puppy badly..and it happened sort of fast..in fact, I wasn't even prepared..Brad got on the computer yesterday afternoon and checked a local kennel's website and bam, there he was..and local..and 9 weeks old, male, tri colored, etc etc..he called and the pup was still available...we went last night to look at him (knowing full well we'd buy him) and fell in love..only thing is, we have nothing..no crate, no dog food, puppy supplies, nothing..so we figured it would be better for us to get a little prepared and go back and get him on Friday afternoon..I have a long stretch off work after Wednesday, so I'll be home to take care of the baby...lol..
He's going to be so spoiled!

I just finished up Chaz's Second Grade year for his scrapbook using the digital set by Cathy Zielske. Now, just to upload to Persnickety Prints and order...

This is a phrase that's been said a lot around here lately..It started with baseball..the other evening, Brad and Chaz got home from practice, and I could tell there was some tension in the air, which means something went wrong at practice...apparently Chaz was goofing off, being a bit cocky and not hustling, and Brad was pissed...and Chaz heard this phrase after all of his excuses...it made for a really "nice" family dinner that night...
But we've found that this applies to homework/school and behavior at home too...like most, we are settling into a new school year, new responsibilities, new teachers, new expectations...I've already gotten some attitude when more is expected when homework is done..I'm just not Ok with sloppy work, especially handwriting when I know both kids can do better...I try not to reflect my OCD school thing onto my kids..I was one of those students that, although I got a 98 on a test, I would obsess over the 1 that I missed..lol..it's a sickness..but Brad and I DO expect good work with best effort from the kids..and that applies to homework too..cause you "play" like you practice...and it will reflect on your work at school and on tests...
We're also finding the phrase goes well for discipline and manners at home..the way the kids act at home is how they will act out in their lives at school, church, family and friend's houses etc...we expect good manners at home with us so that hopefully it will become habit with teachers and others...
So, try this at home if you need a good "parent" phrase to say to your kids..lol
(and I mention Chaz more in this because he is almost 9 and he "gets" this idea more since he's older...but Bailey will get it too later..lol)
This is what it looks like at our house after school..they come in, drop everything (and I tell Chaz EVERY single day that he can't leave his shoes there..take them to his closet..lol), and proceed to the pantry for something to eat...snacks after school are mandatory at our house..they are starving when they get home, especially Bailey....
I let them chill for a bit and then it's homework time..they are settling back into the school routine quite well...
In my world, this week has consisted of a lot of sorting, hanging, and pricing for a consignment sale tomorrow..going in a bit to drop things off..I don't have that much this time around, which is fine with me..the preparation that goes into consigning can get a bit overwhelming especially when you are a procrastinator like me..but as the kids are getting older, there's less "stuff" to get rid of..mainly the last season's clothes..and a huge pile of VHS tapes..yes we still have Bob the Builder, Elmo, and Thomas the Tank Engine tapes taking up space in our house..feels good to get rid of those, although it makes me a bit sentimental..Chaz did love his Thomas stuff..and Bailey her Elmo...I was surprised to hear that people still buy VHS tapes, but I was assured that they did by the girl running the sale...

I am here to admit that I love me some Bravo TV...trash? pretty much, but there are a few shows on there that I just love...
First off...Flipping Out
Not sure why I like Jeff, Jenni, Zoila, and the crew so much, but I do...their dynamics are so funny..and maybe Jeff reminds me a bit of the gay guy I worked for when I thought I was going to quit nursing and become an Interior Designer...? lol...which is not necessarily a good thing...he was a snot ..sort of like Jeff...
I just enjoy the drama on this show and how weird some of these people are that have so much money...and can I just say, her two assistants..what's up with their "looks"? That girl with the curled under pink bangs? Ummmm...not sure what to say about that..but a new season started last night..and it was a good one..strange guys she had to work with though..
This show is just "bananas"..if you watch, then you get that...the new season should be interesting now that she and Roger had a baby...her ways crack me up..and please, woman, would you gain some dang weight?
and Bethanny Ever After..this doesn't come on right now, but I love me some Bethenny..I have laughed so hard at this show that I've cried...hoping she comes back for another season..love how neurotic and honest she is...
Ok, let's discuss the Housewives...I despise the New Jersey, Beverly Hills, and New York ones...but like Atlanta and Orange County ( a little)...mainly Atlanta..so ghetto..lol
and I just finished up watching The Next Food Network Star...I liked both of the finalists...either one would have been good...and I knew since a girl won last season, a boy was up to win...
and really, besides watching the 48 Hour Mystery, that's all I watch...and holy cow, two weeks ago, it was a local murder story..in Coweta County!!! That was weird...
So, there you have it...my guilty horrible telelvision schedule...
